The University of Toronto Chinese Engineering Students’ Association (U of T CESA) is a student-run, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Chinese culture, friendship, and communication between its ethnically diverse members. Running for the 36th year beginning May 2010, CESA is one of the largest clubs within the engineering faculty, having approximately 350 undergraduate students, graduate students and alumni. CESA is a university-recognized club providing many events and services throughout the year. We give our members the opportunity to learn, have fun, meet new people and help others around campus and in the Greater Toronto Area. In addition to the variety of events and services, CESA publishes its own CESA Times, a per semester magazine containing informative articles about school life in both Chinese and English. CESA Times reaches a wide audience given that each issue is distributed on campus for all U of T students to access. Another publication is the CESA Yearbook, which is given out to all members at the end of each school year. Photos from the past year, along with final thoughts from the past year’s executive team are organized in a digital format for our members to keep. This year, we will be printing a full-colour, hardcopy format of the CESA Yearbook in addition to its digital format on CD. CESA maintains a website with news updates on upcoming events, photos of past events, past CESA Times magazines and information about the association and its executives. CESA also provides an online message board, which members can use as a discussion area for both school related and non-related topics. Every year, CESA produces many products for its members. These include: a clipboard, discount booklet, buttons, lanyards and pens. The clipboard is a well-known CESA product and can be spotted on campus everyday. Each member also receives a membership card for discount booklet usage at shops and stores around Toronto. Lastly, all CESA executives proudly wear CESA clothing at events and services, as well as on a regular basis around campus. |
